In a strategic move to bolster State’s film industry, State Government has constituted a 9-member advisory committee for Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation (CFDC), with esteemed film actor and BJP Cultural Cell State Coordinator Rajesh Awasthi among its members. Awasthi, a prominent figure in both Chhattisgarhi and Bollywood cinema, previously held the position of chairman of the Film Development Corporation during the final months of Dr Raman Singh’s third term but had not been reappointed under Bhupesh Baghel’s administration. Rajesh Awasthi, renowned for his extensive contributions as an actor and line producer, has lent his expertise to numerous films, television serials, and web series.

 

The government’s selection of such experienced members reflects its commitment to leveraging expertise for industry development. Recently, Vivek Acharya, Director of the Department of Culture and Managing Director of Tourism, presented ambitious proposals for establishing a film city in Nava Raipur to Central Government.
