Lord Ram Honors His Love for Sita with a Golden Idol at the Ashvamedh Yagya
Sony SAB's Shrimad Ramayan continues to captivate viewers with the timeless story of Lord Ram (Sujay Reu) and Sita (Prachi Bansal). In the upcoming episodes, the Ashvamedh Yagya takes centre stage, and Lord Ram faces a profound dilemma. Traditionally, this grand sacrificial ritual must be performed by a married couple. With Sita absent from Ayodhya, Lord Ram suggests that his brother Bharat (Nikhlesh Rathore) and his wife Mandavi (Sheersha Tiwari) perform the Yagya instead. However, the ancestors declare that only Lord Ram should conduct it.
Torn between his duty as king and the void left by Sita’s absence, Ram decides to honor his love and devotion to his wife in a unique way. He announces that he will indeed perform the Yagya, and in Sita's place, he places a golden idol of her, symbolizing her eternal presence by his side. This act not only fulfils the sacred tradition but also demonstrates his deep bond with Sita, even in her physical absence.
As Luv and Kush, also reach Ayodhya to witness the Ashvamedh Yagya and meet Ram and Sita. However, their excitement turns into surprise when they see Sita’s idol instead of Sita herself.
Sujay Reu, who plays the role of Lord Ram in Shrimad Ramayan, said, “Ram’s decision to place Sita’s idol by his side during the Yagya is not just a fulfillment of tradition, but a testament to their unbreakable bond. Even though Sita isn’t physically present, her presence in Ram's heart is undeniable. This scene beautifully captures the delicate balance between his role as a ruler and his devotion to his wife. It’s a significant moment, filled with emotion and symbolism, that will resonate deeply with viewers."
