To commemorate the death anniversary of the legendary singer, actor and music composer Kishore Kumar, Culture Department of the State in collaboration with the Khandwa district administration, will be organising the National Kishor Kumar Samman ceremony and a musical evening on October 13 at Police Ground, Khandwa. Celebrated director Rajkumar Hirani will be conferred with the award. As per information, the ceremony will be held under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and under the chairmanship of Minister of State (Independent Charge) Culture, Tourism, Religious Trust and Religious Affairs Department Dharmendra Singh Lodhi. Public representatives and a large number of music lovers will be present in the program.
Director, Directorate of Culture N P Namdeo said that the noted screenwriter and producer-director Rajkumar Hirani is selected for the National Kishore Kumar Samman Year 2023 for screenwriting. Hirani is best known for his films like Munnabhai MBBS (2003), Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006) and 3 Idiots (2009).
After the investiture ceremony, a musical evening will be organised in which famous singer Neeraj Shridhar will perform. Neeraj Shridhar is known for singing the songs ‘Tumko Dekha’ from God Tussi Great Ho and ‘Bhaagm Bhaag’ from Bhagam Bhaag film. After this, Neeraj is known for singing songs like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom from ‘Ticket to Hollywood’, ‘Heyy Baby’ from ‘Heyy Baby’, ‘Ishq Ka Kalma’ from Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ from Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
