Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay (IPS), while chairing a meeting on Saturday, has instructed officers and SHOs to review ongoing efforts and set directions for further action against crime in the region. The meeting was attended by Additional SPs (Crime), Samar Verma, Pradeep Kumar Shende (Law & Order) and Suryakant Sharma (Rural), focused on several key issues related to law enforcement and public safety. Addressing the meeting, SP Upadhyay directed the officers to intensify the effort for ensuring execution of notices, warrants, arrest warrants and permanent warrants received from the High Court, including all possible follow-ups to ensure timely action. He also instructed that the complaints received through the Chief Minister’s Helpline should be addressed with priority and satisfactory responses should be given to solve public grievances.
 
Officers were directed for paying special attention to check activities of habitual offenders with multiple criminal cases against them, including active gangsters, dangerous criminals and those involved in serious offenses like knife attacks. A comprehensive strategy for their preventive detention and action under various legal provisions, such as Section 141 of the Indian Penal Code, should be implemented. Police should focus on identifying and taking strict action against organised crime rackets involved in illegal gambling (satta), gambling and sale of illicit liquor. Proactive measures should be taken against individuals involved in these illegal activities and ensuring to disrupting such networks. The SP instructed all the officers to ensure that any violation by individuals involved in criminal networks should be addressed immediately through legal and preventive measures. He informed about the importance of regular monitoring and coordination between police units to break down criminal operations and ensure public safety.
