TWO trainees from Netaji Subhash
Chandra Bose Medical College
(NSCBMC), including Dr Mansi Nema
and Dr Navank Sharma have achieved
remarkable success at the Apollo
National Cancer Conclave in Mumbai.
Their paper on ‘Learning Curve of
Low-Cost Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy
(SLNB) Technique and Treatment of
SLN Positive Breast Cancer not only
secured first place in Paper Presentation
and third place in Poster Presentation,
but also showcased the innovation and
excellence of the excellent team.
Dr Mansi received Rs 25,000 for the
first prize and Dr Navank received Rs
7,000 for the third prize in Poster competition. Being the only Surgery residents, they competed among MCh
Superspeciality residents, this is a big
achievement for the Government
Medical Colleges of Jabalpur and
Madhya Pradesh. This work demonstrated the commitment of the Surgery
team of NSCBMC to advance accessible, high-quality breast cancer care for
all in the region.
Former Director, Tata Memorial
Hospital and former President,
International Union for Cancer Control,
Professor Anil D’Cruz congratulated
both the trainees for their brilliant performance in the event.
He highly applauded the research
activities being conducted in NSCBMC,
Jabalpur and also appreciated Dr Sanjay
Yadav, Breast Oncosurgeon for making huge efforts to ensure advanced
treatment for poor cancer patients at
a government organization and impressively mentoring the trainee doctors.
