CONTINUING its drive against the citizens illegally disposing of waste, spitting and urinating in public places,
the Nagpur Municipal Corporation
(NMC) on Tuesday registered 96 cases and collected fine worth Rs 46,000.
The nuisance detection squad of
the civic body took action against
vegetable sellers, vendors for dumping garbage in open places, sellers
occupying footpaths and those illegally utilizing public places. Malls,
restaurants, lodges, hotels, cinema
halls, marriage halls, catering service
providers, were on the radar of the
authorities from whom the authorities collected fine of Rs 2000 each.
Cases against some of the workshop
and garage owners occupying footpaths and public places were also registered on the occasion.
The action was taken under the
leadership ofVirsenTambe of nuisance
detection squad of the civic body.
The civic body has been taking
action against these violators past the
past few days. on Monday, the nuisance detection squad had registered
121 cases and collected a fine amounting to Rs 71,000 form the violators.
The authorities took action against
32 vegetable sellers, vendors for
dumping garbage in open places, 13
cases against those illegally utilizing
footpaths, 34 cases against those
obstructing roads, 1 cases for occupying footpaths for cattle, 2 cases
against chicken centre for dumping
waste on open places, and others for
similar violations.
