BREAKTHROUGH: Police arrest five members of Gang 4141

IN a major breakthrough, Tilwara police have nabbed five members of Gang 4141 and seized 2 pistols, 2 live cartridges, 3 chinese knives and 6 knives from them. The arrested have been identified as Ankush Bairagi alias Dharve (20), resident of Kresharbasti, Tilwara, Anuj Khatik (23), resident of Purwa Road, Sanjeevani Nagar, Sanju Sarang alias Sanjay Ahirwar (24), resident of Jodhpur Padav, Tilwara, Iluu alias Himanshu Tiwari (24), resident of Lal Building, Sanjeevani Nagar and Shubham Pandey (24), resident near Vriddha Ashram, Tilwara. It may be noted that, on November 10, 2024, Sanjay Upadhyay (30) was injured in a firing incident in Tilwara. The injured informed to police that two men arrived on a motorcycle while he was sitting at the Khairmai Temple platform. One, with a covered face, attempted to shoot him but the gun malfunctioned and Sanjay managed to escape from the spot. Later, while returning home, Sanjay was shot in the thigh by Anuj Khatik and an accomplice.

Taking a serious note into the case, SP Sampat Upadhyay constituted a team under the supervision of Additional SP, Samar Verma and CSP, Garha, Devendra Pratap Singh Chouhan. Investigating the case, police team led by SHO, Tilwara, Brijesh Mishra identified and apprehended one of the accused Ankush alias Kala Dharve, who confessed the crime, and revealed the names of other members of their gang. On his identification, police started a rigorous search, police have arrested four more members of Gang 4141 and seized 2 pistols, 2 live cartridges, 3 chinese knives and 6 knives from them. In further investigation, police learnt that the arrested Sanju Sarang is already booked in over 20 sensitive crime cases including robbery, attempted murder and possessing illegal weapons while Anuj Khatik has over 16 offenses related to violence, attempted murder and illegal substances, Iluu Tiwari has over 15 registered crime cases and Ankush Dharve and Shubham Pandit have also booked in multiple registered crimes including possessing illegal weapons and assault.
