Notorious wildlife smuggler handed over to Tamil Nadu Forest Department on production warrant

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) STSF, Madhya Pradesh, informed that the notorious wildlife smuggler and hunter Pujari Singh Bawaria has been handed over to the equivalent authorities of Tamil Nadu after the permission of the Court of Narmadapuram in Madhya Pradesh on the basis of the production warrant issued by the Court of Udanandalam Tamil Nadu. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Wildlife STSF Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, informed that on the basis of alert received from Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, New Delhi, and information from an informer, State Tiger Strike Force Madhya Pradesh has arrested international notorious wildlife smuggler Adin Singh alias Kalla Bawaria with tiger and pangolin parts on August 18, 2023. On the basis of information given by him, other accused Pujari Singh, a resident of Hoshiarpur, Punjab was arrested. Cases are registered against both the above criminals in the states of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu in connection with hunting of wildlife tiger and illegal trade of its parts.
 
The team of Nilgiri Forest Division in Tamil Nadu has sent the accused Pujari Singh Bawaria from Central Jail Narmadapuram to Tamil Nadu with the help of STSF after the permission of the Court of Narmadapuram on November 11, 2024, in a case registered in the Nilgiri Forest Division for tiger hunting and illegal trade of its parts. The accused was being searched by the forest departments and other law enforcement agencies of other states for the last several years. Investigation is going on in the case. On the basis of accurate investigation done in the case by the State Tiger Strike Force, the bail plea of the accused Pujari Singh involved in the case has been rejected by the High Court Jabalpur after detailed hearing. The accused has been imprisoned in judicial custody for the last 11 months.
