The World University Shooting Championship organised at Delhi concluded on Wednesday with three shooters bagging a bronze in the skeet team event. The 03-member Indian team that won the bronze medal included players Mansi Raghuvanshi (109 points) and Vanshika Tiwari (111 points) of MP State Shooting (Shotgun) Academy. The third player Yashaswani Rathore (114 points) is a player from Rajasthan.
The gold medal of the competition was won by the team of Italy (338 points) and the silver medal was won by the team of Slovakia (334 points). Indian won the bronze with 334 points.
State Sports Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang congratulated the Indian team which won bronze medal in the championship.
It is noteworthy that a total of 04 players of MP State Shooting Academy participated in the World University Games 2024.
All the players have won medals. It is also noteworthy here that this is the fourth medal of the players of MP State Shooting Academy in the World Shooting Championship. Expressing happiness on winning 4 medals, State Sports Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said that this result is the result of the encouragement given to the players by the department and their hard work. He hoped that our players will continue to make the state and the country proud at the world level.
The winners of the MP State Shooting Academy who shined at the World University Games include Aishwarya Pratap Singh with a silver medal in the individual event of 50 m 3 position rifle event and a gold medal in 50 m 3 position rifle team event. Neeru Dhanda with a silver medal in women's skeet individual event and Mansi and Vanshika with bronze medal in women's skeet team event. The players of the Sports Academy won a total of 4 medals in the competition including 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.
