“The Opposition makes false propaganda that the book of Constitution which I carry with me is fake. However, I hold a genuine book in my hand. But there is nothing written in the Constitution about the way Amit Shah stole MLAs in Maharashtra and bribed them with the help of some industrialists behind closed doors. In a true sense he murdered the Constitution,” alleged Rahul Gandhi while launching a scathing attack on the BJP while addressing rally in Dhamangaon Railway on Saturday. MVA candidates Virendra Jagtap (Dhamangaon. Railway), Yashomati Thakur ( Teosa), and Bablu Deshmukh (Achalpur) were prominently present on dais.

“The Congress party always believed in running government by following Constitution of India. But the RSS and BJP want to remove Constitution. I am flashing the Indian Constitution in every rally to remind people of the struggle and sacrifices of the national leaders like Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Gandhi who built the country,” said Rahul Gandhi while addressing another public rally in Chimur, canvassing for MVA candidates including Vijay Wadettiwar, Dr Satish Warjukar and others. Stating that the conditions of Dalits, tribals and backward classes is deteriorating, he said some 90 officers prepare budget of the country. “They take all important decisions concerning the country. But among these senior officers the Dalit officers are just 15 per cent, meaning only three dalit officers. If Rs100 is distributed in the budget, these three officers take decision on Re one each. The population of tribals is 8 per cent. The tribal officers take decision of ten paisa only out of Rs100. The backward class officers account for 50 per cent,” he added.

Rahul Gandhi calls journalists ‘slaves’, draws flak

Addressing a rally in Dhamangaon Railway, Rahul Gandhi called journalists ‘slaves’. “Since last one year, I have been talking about saving the Constitution, demanding caste census, and speaking about removing 50 per cent reservation limit. But, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now saying that Rahul Gandhi is against reservation. He has memory loss. Even while presenting all these issues in front of him, he has forgotten this. All this is not shown by media as all the media belong to Modi. They all laugh at me when I say this,” said Gandhi. Gandhi said, it is not journalists’ fault and they just did their duty as they want to get salary to educate their wards, to earn bread and butter for their family. To do this, they have to listen to the owners of mediahouses and thus in this manner they are ‘slaves’. “So, I have no fight with them and in fact I like them. Media shows Modi for 24 hours and does not show what I speak,” Rahul Gandhi alleged criticising the media. Prakash Kulthe, Working President of Maharashtra Editors’ Council, Mumbai, condemned Rahul Gandhi for his statement and remninded Gandhi that as a Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, he is supposed to raise his voice against the ruling party. But he is raising his voice against the journalists, calling them ‘slaves’. “This is insult to all journalists who have been honestly working for years. We publicly condemn Gandhi’s statement,” said Kulthe.
