A delegation of Jabalpur Sangharsh Samiti met Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Krishna Tankha and submitted a memorandum urging resumption of direct air services between Jabalpur and Pune, as well as the launch of a regular train service on the same route. On the occasion, committee convener Himanshu Khare emphasized the pressing need for direct air connectivity between Jabalpur and Pune. He said thousands of youths from Jabalpur reside in Pune for higher education and employment opportunities. Considering the distance between the two cities, the delegation urged MP Tankha to expedite the revival of the previously operational air service. Khare also proposed the introduction of a regular train service between Jabalpur and Pune. Highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of both cities, he suggested the train be named the Sanskardhani Osho Express.

 

While addressing the delegation, MP Vivek Krishna Tankha acknowledged the contributions of distinguished personalities like Rani Durgavati, Osho, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Swami Swaroopanand to Jabalpur’s national and international recognition. He stressed the dire need for direct air connectivity with Pune and assured the delegation that all necessary efforts would be made to fulfil the request. Tankha further said that Acharya Rajneesh Osho has played a pivotal role in giving Jabalpur global recognition.

 

He said a large community of Osho’s followers exist in both Jabalpur and Pune and said these proposed air and train services would greatly benefit citizens of both cities. Members of the Jabalpur Sangharsha Samiti including Geeta Sharat Tiwari, Baldeep Maini, Himanshu Rai, Manu Tiwari, Arun Pawar, Preeti Chaudhary and others called upon residents of Sanskardhani to extend full support to the initiative for enhanced connectivity.
