The Panchayat, Rural Development and Social Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh and Department of Labour, Madhya Pradesh Minister Prahlad Singh Patel participated as the chief guest in various inauguration and bhoomipujan programmes organised in the Gram Panchayats of Umaria, Tindani and Nayakheda of the district.
In the Awas Pakhwara programme organised in the Gram Panchayat Umaria of Janpad Panchayat Kareli, he distributed the acceptance letters of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin to various beneficiaries. He performed bhoomipujan of the sub-health center to be built at a cost of Rs 65 lakh and CC Road costing Rs 3.30 lakh. Apart from this, Minister Patel inaugurated the drain construction work.
Minister Patel told the villagers that after bhoomipujan of the sub-health center, it’s constructions will begin soon and it be operational at the earliest. “After construction, it is your responsibility to run this health centre.
Various tests, vaccinations and free medicines for children and women will be available here. A building is meaningful only when it is properly utilised. Today, the ground breaking ceremony of the CC road has also taken place here. After its construction, people will have a lot of convenience in commuting,” the Minister said.
Minister Patel said that Aawas Pakhwara and Swachhata Samvad programmes have been organised today. Its purpose is to make people aware and motivated towards cleanliness. It is our responsibility to ensure that waste management is done properly for cleanliness in rural areas. Work will have to be done keeping in view water conservation, water harvesting, plantation and waste management. On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, Gram Panchayats have been freed from open defecation. It is not enough to just build toilets in villages, it is also important to see where its dirty water is getting mixed. We will have to think about ensuring that dirty water from the villages situated on the banks of Maa Narmada does not flow into the river.
Addressing the programme, he said, “I am happy to say that our ancestors were more serious about cleanliness. The water from the toilets and kitchens was never mixed together at one place and neither have we thrown the kitchen water on the roads.
A few decades ago, there used to be ghurae (dustbins) in villages, where we used to store the waste coming out of our homes. It was later used as manure.
In Gram Panchayat Nayakheda, Minister Patel also inaugurated the Nayakheda to Taparia Tola access road built at a cost of Rs 21 lakh. Apart from this, the high level bridge on Narsinghpur- Simaria-Tindani road built on Shedh river in Tindani was also inaugurated. Its length is 150 meters. Along with this, the high level bridge on Nayakheda- Imaliya- Garagata- Gararu road was also inaugurated.
On this occasion, President of District Panchayat, Jyoti Nilesh Kakodiya, Kanchhedi Patel, Sardar Singh Patel, Rajendra Thakur, Devi Singh, Sunil Kothari, Mahant Pritampuri Goswami, Assistant Collector, Shubham Yadav, other public representatives, officers-employees and dignitaries were present.
