Staff Reporter Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasised that Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra will collaborate to bring agro-based industries to every household, stating, “One and one will not make two, but will work as eleven.” Addressing the gathering at the inauguration of Agrovision National Agricultural Fair in Nagpur on Friday, Dr Yadav highlighted that the event is more than just a fair, it is a cornerstone for fostering good governance, paving the way for prosperity in India and its states. Chief Minister Dr Yadav said that Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is an expert in resolving social issues. He said that the state is identified on the basis of rural agriculture-based works.

I appreciate that the Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra governments are encouraging domestic industries like agriculture-based fisheries, animal husbandry, and milk production in every household. He said that production is not limited to productivity but also to providing adequate markets for the products. A team of ministers and officials from Madhya Pradesh will be sent to observe and study the fair. Chief Minister Dr Yadav highlighted that the Madhya Pradesh government has introduced several schemes to boost the income of cow herders. He stated, “We are followers of Shri Krishna, who is known as Gopala—the protector of cows. A household with cows is a Gokul.” Drawing a connection to Marathi traditions, he noted that calves and heifers are called Gaura and Gauri. “We have devised a plan to provide Gauri instead of cows to herders,

” he explained. Under this plan, cow herders can rear five cows, keep two at home, and the government will purchase the remaining three. By selling milk, cow herders can increase their income significantly. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we will build cow shelters in urban areas to provide shelter to the abandoned and destitute cows whose milk-yielding capacity has become low or zero and the cow herders have abandoned. The Bhoomi pujan of a cowshed with a capacity of 10 thousand cows is going to be held in Bhopal. This will also curb accidents caused by destitute cattle on the roads. The CM said that we have also decided to close down Kanji Houses, Khedas in Madhya Pradesh. Keeping mute animals in jail is not justified. He said that after coming to Maharashtra, it felt as if I had come to my home. Mata Ahilya and Mahadji Sindhia hail from Maharashtra state. “I salute Mata Ahilya, who at that time got wells constructed as an irrigation system for farming,” he said.
