The Inter-District (University-level) Youth Festival 2024 was inaugurated in an enthusiastic and fun-frolic atmosphere at Rani Durgavati University on Friday. The event is being organised following the directives of Ministry of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal.
Vice-chancellor, Rani Durgavati University, Professor Rajesh Kumar Verma inaugurated the festival in front of Main Administrative Building and boosted up the participants’ morale with his inspiring words.
The Vice-chancellor, Professor Verma motivated every participant to make sincere efforts to win the competitions as victory brings happiness and defeat teaches to make more efforts to achieve the fixed target. Earlier, marking the inauguration of Youth Festival, an attractive cultural procession was carried out to the Main
Administrative Building of the university with traditional musical instruments and dances.
During this cultural rally, all the teams from five districts (Jabalpur, Katni, Mandla, Dindori, Narsinghpur) participated in traditional costumes of different colours.
The procession ended in front of the statue of the brave warrior Rani Durgavati with offering of rich tribute by the invited dignitaries and students
Simultaneously, the Youth Festival was inaugurated by release of tri-colour balloons in the sky with the message of Swami Vivekananda’Arise, awake and do not stop till the goal is achieved’.
The organising committee’s Chief Patron, Vice-chancellor, Professor Verma, Patron, Professor Santosh Jatav, incharge Registrar and Additional Director, Suresh Katiya, Finance Controller, Convener, Professor Vivek Mishra, Dean Student Welfare, Dr Lokesh Srivastava, Dr Pushpraj Singh Chaudhary, Dr R K Srivastava, Dr Abhaykant Mishra and Dr R K Gupta, Coordinator, Cultural Cell, Deepa Verma, Dr Preeti Pendse, Dr Devashu Gautam and all the members were especially present. Out of 22 disciplines of Inter District (University Level) Youth Festival, around 120 participants from 05 districts have reached Rani Durgavati University. The programme was conducted by Dr S K Vyas.
The participants represented their respective districts in the competitions of solo singing (classical), light singing, group singing (Indian) organised at MBA auditorium.
In presence of Coordinator Dr Harleen Kaur Rooprah, co-coordinator Dr Harish Yadav, Dr Rajni Sharma, Maulshree Bavaria, Tullika Nagesh, Dr Taruna Rathore, the contestants mesmerised everyone with their singing talent. Under the singing and playing competition, classical solo playing (percussion), classical solo playing (non-percussion), solo and group singing western competitions were also organised at the same venue.
Whereas, solo dance (classical), group folk dance competitions were organised at Pt Kunjilal Dubey auditorium, in which all the participants gave a wonderful display of their art skills in coordination with Dr Varsha Agalave, Dr Jyoti Srivastava, Dr Preeti Dongre, Dr Ranveer Kaur Kalsi.
