The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced the launch of the Viksit Bharat Challenge, a nation-wide initiative aimed at engaging India’s youth in shaping the future of the country. The challenge is part of the upcoming Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, scheduled for January 11-12, 2025, during the National Youth Festival at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
In a press conference held at the SAI CRC Bhopal on Friday, notable athletes, including two-time
Olympic medalist Vivek Sagar Prasad (Indian Hockey Team) and Olympian Judoka Garima Chaudhary, addressed the media. Vivek Sagar remarked, “The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue is an exceptional platform for the youth to present their ideas and contribute to the nation's future.” Garima Chaudhary encouraged youth participation, saying, “I hope many young Indians participate in this festival, as they can pave the way for a more progressive India.” Regional Director of SAI CRC Bhopal, Abhishek Singh Chauhan (ITS), and NYKS Bhopal Director, Sudhir Singh, also briefed the media about the upcoming event.
As per them, the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue aims to identify and nurture young
leadership across the country. “The Prime Minister envisions cultivating at least 100,000
young leaders and involving youth in defining their roles in India’s path toward development,” they said.
According to officials, the festival aims to identify and nurture young talent and provide them with a stage to share their ideas for a developed India. It will offer youth opportunities to interact with the Prime Minister, presenting their vision for India’s future, and enhancing their involvement in civic and
political life.” He further emphasised the aim to engage at
least 10 million youth (ages 15-29) nationwide in the Viksit Bharat Challenge, which will serve as the first phase for the main event at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
As per information, the first round of the Viksit Bharat Challenge will kick off with an All-India Digital Quiz Competition, to be opened from November 25 to December 5, 2024, on the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) platform.
The quiz will test participants’ knowledge of India’s historical achievements, providing them a chance to showcase their awareness of the country’s legacy and progress.
Participants, aged 15 to 29, can register on the MY Bharat platform and take part in the quiz. The winners will progress to the next rounds, including an essay/blog writing competition, a state-level ‘Viksit Bharat Vision’ presentation, and ultimately, the National Championship, where state-level winners will compete at Bharat Mandapam.
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue will be part of the National Youth Festival 2025, gathering selected youth from three distinct categories including Viksit Bharat Challenge Participants who have successfully advanced through the quiz, District and State-Level Youth Festival Winners including talented youth from various categories, including painting,
science exhibitions, cultural performances, and speeches and exceptional youth from diverse fields such as entrepreneurship, sports, agriculture, and technology.
