Jabalpur Municipal Corporation has on Friday organised a review meeting of senior officials including assistant health officers, chief health inspectors, health inspectors and consultants from Health Department to assess preparations for Swachh Survekshan 2024 and the GFC Star Rating at mini hall of Manas Bhavan.
During the meeting, senior officials discussed the evaluation criteria for both initiatives in detail. Senior officials highlighted that in the Swachh Survekshan 2023 rankings, Jabalpur secured 13th position and achieved a three-star rating in the GFC Star Rating.
They emphasized the goal of achieving even better results this year.
To ensure extensive preparation, the guidelines from the toolkits of both Swachh Survekshan 2024 and the GFC Star Rating were explained. The officials stressed the need of giving specific focus in areas include beautification efforts in various wards, monitoring of commercial and residential zones, maintenance of lakes, drains and educational institutions, compliance by bulk waste generators, such
as large hotels and restaurants etc. Senior officials instructed that ground-level work should begin immediately, similar to last year. Likewise, measures to improve air quality were also discussed. During the meeting, Health Officer Sandeep Jaiswal directed the team to take strict action against offenses such as garbage burning, illegal dumping of construction waste, usage of single-use plastics and stubble burning. He also urged officials to raise awareness among citizens about maintaining cleanliness and regulations.
