In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old woman, Neha Patil, jumped to death in the Kaliasot Dam in Bhopal on Friday afternoon, around 12 noon. The police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. An investigation has been launched, and the police have registered a case of unnatural death.
According to Assistant Sub-Inspector K P Mishra, who is investigating the case, Neha Patil, a resident of Kolar, had come to the Kaliasot Dam with two friends on Friday.
“While talking to someone on the phone, she suddenly jumped into the dam,” he said.
The police have recovered the body and are investigating the matter. Mishra further revealed that Neha was talking to her family members on the phone before taking the drastic step.

The police suspect that Neha’s husband, Rohit Patil, was having an extramarital affair, which led to frequent arguments and tension in the household. The police have stated that Neha’s family had been experiencing constant conflicts, and she had been feeling distressed.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are gathering evidence against Neha’s in-laws. The police have assured that they will take further action in the matter.
Notably, the Kaliasot Dam, a popular tourist spot, has witnessed several incidents of suicide and accidents in the past. The police have increased patrolling in the area and are taking measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
