Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) and Chairman of the State’s Power Companies, Neeraj Mandloi visited State electricity headquarters Shakti Bhawan to review operations of MP Power Management Company, Power Generating Company, Power Transmission Company and Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, on Saturday. During the meeting, Mandloi reviewed the status of electricity demand and supply, ongoing projects under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), thermal power generation, as well as the load capacity of high-voltage substations and transmission lines.
 
He gave necessary directions to the officers for improving these operations. The meeting was attended by Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, MD, Anay Dwivedi, Power Generating Company, MD, Manjeet Singh, Power Transmission Company, MD, Sunil Tiwari, Poorva Kshetra Company, CGM, Neeta Rathore, Power Management Company, CGM, Rajeev Gupta, Power Generating Company, CGM, Deepak Kashyap and senior engineers from the electricity companies. ACS, Mandloi reviewed the current power demand and supply situation in the state. He also analyzed presentations on upcoming power projects and electricity availability for the next five years. He informed about the significance of ensuring the availability of renewable and non-renewable energy sources in the future. He instructed that the installation of smart meters, capacitor banks and efforts to reduce distribution losses under RDSS should be completed at a rapid pace. He emphasized continuous monitoring of the quality of RDSS project implementation to ensure timely and effective progress.
 
Additional Chief Secretary, Mandloi directed the Power Generation Company for optimum utilisation of the capacity of thermal and hydroelectric power plants to make the power generation more efficient. He particularly emphasized maintaining a steady and high-quality supply of electricity during the upcoming Rabi season. Mandloi also directed that the Power Transmission Company should maintain seamless power supply by ensuring the timely completion of transmission lines for ongoing electricity production projects. He urged the company to prioritize the construction of transmission lines to support the growing power production capacity in the state.
