Raipur Obstetrics and Gynecology Society (ROGS) commemorated its 50th anniversary at the 20th Annual State-Level Conference, inaugurated on Saturday at a private hotel here.
Attended by over 150 delegates, the event spotlighted
advancements in maternal health and high-risk pregnancy management.
A notable feature was a workshop on Cardiotocography, a pivotal tool in identifying high-risk pregnancies, conducted by Dr. Y Subhashini and Dr Lakshmi Shailja from Hyderabad’s renowned Fernandez Hospital.
Delegates were also treated to a nostalgic ‘throwback reel’, showcasing ROGS’
five-decade journey.
The inaugural session honoured former ROGS Presidents, with the executive committee members felicitated by Chief Guest Dr P K Shah from Mumbai and Guest of Honour Dr Charmila Avayyoo from
Trichy. Dr Shah also delivered the prestigious Dr Kamla Tiwari Oration.
Scientific deliberations dominated the first day, with eminent speakers including Dr Abha Singh, Dr Devika Gunasheel, Dr Jayarani Kamraj, and Dr Haresh Doshi sharing insights into advanced treatments, especially challenging caesarean sections.
Additionally, 10 original research papers were presented, focusing on safeguarding maternal and neonatal health from pregnancy through childbirth.
The evening transitioned to vibrant cultural celebrations, where doctors showcased their artistic flair through dance, drama, and music, blending academia with camaraderie.
