IN A horrific accident, an IndiGo Airlines staffer was killed and two of his colleagues were critically injured after the car they were travelling in hit a roadside railing and its steel rod pierced through the moving vehicle in the New Kamptee area early Tuesday morning.
The deceased, identified as Roshan Nilambar Naik (26) was a resident of Gudcef Road, Tiranga Chowk, Ramgarh, Kamptee.
Injured Abhishek Shivnarayan Parmar (28), a resident of New Yerkheda,Kamptee and Sayyed Aamir Shahzad Sayyed Sabir (26), a resident of Futanaoli, Juni Kamptee, have been hospitalised.
According to police, Roshan, Abhishek and Sayyed Aamir were on their way to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport from Kamptee in a KIA Carens car (MH-40/CQ-3804) around 5 am.
Sayyed Aamir, who was driving the car at a high speed, lost control of the vehicle near the Christian Cemetery at Garud Chowk, New Kamptee. The car slammed into a roadside railing, and the force of the collision caused the steel rod from the railing to pierce through the vehicle. Roshan was killed instantly as the rod struck him and Sayyed Aamir and Abhishek were critically injured.
Some bystanders and passers-by pulled all the occupants from
the car and rushed them to Sub-District Hospital, Kamptee, where Roshan was declared ‘brought dead’ by doctors. Eye-witnesses told police that Roshan’s neck was completely slit after a rod pierced through the vehicle.
After the recording the statement of Nilambar Paduchand Naik (49), father of the deceased, New Kamptee Police registered a case under Sections 106(1), 281, 125 (a), 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, read with Section 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act, against Sayyed Aamir.
