Central Railway has become the first zone of Indian Railways to introduce the on-line issuance of the Divyangjan Card. This marks a significant step towards enhancing accessibility for differently-abled passengers.
The new initiative, accessible through the website divyangjanid.indianrail.gov.in, enables Divyangjan passengers to conveniently apply for their card on-line. The facility ends the need for physical visits to the Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) office.
This progressive move allows Divyangjan passengers to submit their applications along with the required documents directly via the website, streamlining the entire process.
The on-line system eliminates long queues and paperwork, ensuring a hassle-free experience for passengers, making travel more accessible for those with disabilities.
Once the application is processed, Divyangjan passengers can instantly download their Divyangjan Card from the website. In addition, passengers can continue to book their journey tickets through traditional ticket counters or on-line via the IRCTC website.
CR’s on-line Divyangjan Card initiative underscores its commitment to improving service accessibility and ensuring a smoother, more efficient process for differently-abled passengers, aligning with the broader goal of providing inclusive and barrier-free travel experiences across Indian Railways.
