To protest against the dilapidated condition of the road from Ahimsa Chowk in Vijay Nagar to Kachnar City, the Congress Corporators along with party workers staged a unique demonstration by organising a bullock cart rally. Leader of the Opposition in JMC, Amrish Mishra stated that despite the presence of a "triple-engine BJP government", developmental works in the city have come to a standstill. The most glaring example is the poorly maintained road from Ahimsa Chowk to Kachnar City. Due to non-payment to the contractor, work on the road has been stalled for the past seven months. Mishra said in protest, Congress corporators and party workers from Maharaja Agrasen Ward organised a bullock cart rally and foot march from Kachnar City to Ahimsa Chowk. He said a two-wheeler was symbolically placed on the bullock cart and an elderly man with bandages on his head and arms sent a message that travelling on this road is similar to inviting accidents.

He said the Congress Corporators have repeatedly raised this issue with the Municipal Corporation administration over the past several months, but their concern is unheard. The road connects several colonies, numerous schools and colleges, with thousands of children, elderly residents and commuters using it daily. Likewise, hundreds of businesses operate along this route. However, the Mayor and other BJP public representatives have continuously ignoring the public’s plight. Mishra said on one hand, BJP leaders claim there is no shortage of funds for the city's development, yet the construction of this sanctioned road, which had already started has been halted for seven months due to unpaid dues to the contractor. He said that the incompetence of the ruling party and the Mayor is causing daily hardships for the common people living in the area.
