A programme to launch of the ghazal album ‘Deewangi’, of renowned poet Kanhaiya
Lal Tamrakar was organised, on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion Tamrakar said the genre of ghazal illuminates the path of peace for the soul and serves as a guide to understanding life’s philosophy. He attributed his inspiration for writing
Sufi ghazals to the teachings of Sufi mysticism, which led him to embrace and compose Sufi poetry.
Presiding over the programme, known poet Irfan Jhansi lauded Tamrakar’s ghazals for their ability to connect people with the divine. The country’s esteemed young poet also highlighted the depth of spirituality in Tamrakar’s work. Ganga Charan Mishra said ghazals bring people together rather than divide them. He emphasized the need for unity in today’s times.
Dr Shivkumar Singh Thakur delivered a significant analysis of Tamrakar’s ghazal collection.
Prominent poet Dr Vijay Tiwari ‘Kislay’ spoke on the personalities and literary contributions of Kanhaiya Lal Tamrakar, Irfan Jhansi and Yunus Adeeb.
Tamrakar was honoured with a citation by Gunjan
Kala Sadan, Hindi Sahitya Sangam and Madhyam in recognition of his contributions. Ghazal singers Salim Singer and Sharaf were also felicitated on the occasion.
