Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has expressed his commitment to extending full support for the development of Chhattisgarh. Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day Rajyotsav celebrations at Fair Ground, Nava Raipur in Atal Nagar on Monday evening, Dr Yadav highlighted the shared cultural heritage between the two states. He recalled that Chhattisgarh, which was carved out of Madhya Pradesh on November 1, 2000,
had suffered neglect for 55 years under previous governments, leading to widespread poverty and even starvation among its people.
Dr Yadav assured that Madhya Pradesh would support Chhattisgarh’s development through initiatives such as industrialisation. He also mentioned the recent celebrations in Ayodhya, emphasising the grandeur of Diwali festivities following the construction of the Ram Temple. Dr Yadav further stressed that the BJP’s ‘double-engine’ governments are dedicated to the welfare of the underprivileged, including the poor, tribal communities, and women.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, in his presidential address, called on the people of Chhattisgarh to work diligently towards transforming the state into a developed region.
He also appealed to the citizens to contribute to the vision of a developed India. CM Sai emphasised the swift action taken by his government, noting that within just ten months, they had fulfilled most of the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the assembly elections.
Highlighting a major achievement, he detailed the government’s efforts to support farmers by purchasing paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal, with a limit of 21 quintals per acre. This initiative led to a record procurement of 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, with the state disbursing Rs 3,716 crore as a pending bonus for the last two years. Additionally, he underscored the empowerment of women through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, under which 70 lakh women receive monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 each.
Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Raman Singh, and Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma speaking emphasized various accomplishments of the state government. The Secretary of the Culture Department, Anbalgan P, delivered the welcome speech.
The three-day Rajyotsav event will be concluded on November 6.
Cabinet Ministers Dayaldas Baghel, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Tankram Verma, Raipur Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agrawal,
and MLAs Rajesh Munat, Purandar Mishra, Motilal Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Guru Khushwant Saheb, and Indra Kumar Sahu. High-ranking officials such as Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests V Sreenivasa Rao, along with other dignitaries and public representatives, were also present at the event.
