IN a big achievement, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) won six awards in the Golden Jubilee Foundation Day celebrations of Coal India Limited (CIL) held in Kolkata. Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Dr Prem Sagar Mishra received the Corporate Award from the Union Coal Minister, Government of India. The SECL bagged the first prize for rehabilitation and resettlement and second prize for the initiative of Weigh-Bridge Automation under Corporate Award category. SECL received four awards in individual category including Area General Manager of Gevra S K Mohanty for Individual Excellence, Area General Manager of Sohagpur Area P Srikrishna for Best Area General Manager, General Manager (Production) Arindam Mukherjee for Best HOD and Electrical Supervisors Devvrat Sinha and N Kumar of Chirmiri Area for Excellence Award for Innovation. In a ceremony organised in Kolkata, Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy was the Chief Guest.
 
The awards were received by CMD Dr Prem Sagar Mishra, Area General Managers and other officers at the hands of the chief guest, Coal Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt and CIL Chairman PM Prasad. The individual category awards were given away by CIL Chairman P M Prasad and former Chairman Sutirtha Bhattacharya. In this important event, CIL also received the prestigious certification of Great Place to Work. On this occasion, CIL Director (Personnel and Industrial Relations) Vinay Ranjan said, “This recognition is an important milestone in our journey which highlights the strength of our workplace culture and our unwavering commitment to our employees”. The CMD and the Board of Directors also congratulated the entire SECL family on the awards received by the Mini Ratna Company.
