The 68th State-level School Boxing Competition concluded at Pandit Lajja Shankar Jha Model Excellence School on Thursday. The concluding ceremony started with worship of Maa Saraswati, followed by various activities including march past, cultural programmes and prize distribution. Bargi MLA Neeraj Singh graced the programme as chief guest whereas, former International Hockey Player and woman coach Madhu Yadav and Vikram Awardee Virendra Singh Thakur were present as special guests. Bargi MLA Singh congratulated the winning participants and extended wishes for their future endeavour.
 
He motivated other participants not to get disappointed and to keep trying to achieve their goals. In the Competition, Bhopal division secured first position in boys category, Ujjain division secured second position whereas, Gwalior division secured third position respectively. In girl’s category, Bhopal division secured first position, whereas Jabalpur and Indore divisions secured second and third positions, respectively. Bhopal division became the overall champion. District Education Officer, Ghanshyam Soni informed that the competition was attended by 363 boys and girls and officials from 9 divisions including Rewa,
 
Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Indore, Sagar, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Tribal Affairs Department, in under 14, 17 and 19 categories. Accommodation arrangements for the players were made in 07 government and non-government schools. Facility of buses of government and non-government schools was provided for the transportation of players, coach managers. The DEO extended his gratitude towards JMC, Police, Railways, Electricity Board and non-government schools of the district for their support. Joint Director Prachis Jain, DIET Principal Sudhir Upadhyay, along with DPC Yogesh Sharma, Nodal Officer Sports Mukesh Shrivastava, District Sports Officer Madhumita Hazra, Asha Sisodia, Principal Mukesh Tiwari, Rakesh Sharma, Ajay Rajak, Krishnakant Sharma, Chandrashekhar Swami, and others were present in the closing ceremony.
