Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary held an important meeting at the district level for better implementation and target achievement of Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. In the meeting, the guidelines of the scheme, possible challenges and a comprehensive strategy for timely completion of the targets were discussed. During this, EE CSPDL Chhagan Sharma informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, a target of 10,000 connections (for the year 24-25) has been set for Durg district. To fulfil this, a list of domestic electricity consumers with high consumption has been prepared in the district, Municipal Corporation/District wise. On the basis of which consumers with high consumption are being motivated to connect with the scheme.

 

Collector Chaudhary directed all the body heads to contact the consumers consuming more electricity as per the list and provide them the benefits of the scheme and said to maintain continuous dialogue for mutual coordination with various concerned departments, vendors and banks and to give special emphasis on publicity in various mediums to spread the information of the scheme to the people. Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme with the aim of promoting the use of solar energy and relieving the common man from the burden of electricity, the Government of India has announced the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. Under this ambitious scheme, a target has been set to provide electricity through solar energy to millions of homes in the country.

 

This scheme will not only benefit the economically weaker families but it will also prove to be a big step towards making the country self-reliant for energy. Under the scheme, beneficiaries will be provided free electricity up to 300 units. For this, a subsidy of up to Rs 78 thousand is being given by the government on the installation of solar panels. Apart from this, loans will also be made available at affordable interest rates so that all interested people can take advantage of this scheme. CEO District Panchayat Durg Bajrang Dubey, Commissioners of Durg, Bhilai, Risali, Charoda-Bhilai, Lead Manager and all Regional Managers Bank District Durg, Executive Engineer CG STPE DCC Ltd, Executive Engineer Renewable Energy Development Authority Durg, all District Panchayat CEOs, Chief Municipal Officer, Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayat, Ahiwara, Kumhari, Jamul, Amleswar, Dhamdha, Patan and Utai, all vendors working under PM Suryaghar Yojana and representatives of Yuvoday were present in the meeting.
