AJINKYA Vaidhya of Union Bank of India clinched the 57th inter-bank chess title conducted by Bankers’ Sports Council in the memory of Late Suresh Khandekar at Nagpur District Chess Association Hall, DNC Complex. Vaidhya garnered four points to emerge clear winner. Vishwajeet Bisht of Bank of Maharashtra (3) and Niket Patil (3) of Punjab National Bank finished second and third respectively.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Manish Khandekar son of Late Suresh Khandekar. Ravi Joshi, Secretary, BSC made introductory remarks. Ramesh Thakur, President, welcomed the guest.
Gayatri Panbude was chief arbiter of the tournament. Tribhovan Meshram, Joint Secretary, Harshal Shende, Pravin Gurang, Executive Members and Lalit Kolte, Rahul Deshpande worked hard for the success of the tournament.
