Total 240 cameras have been installed to trace the tiger in Pench National Park of Seoni district. In fact, a few days ago, the tiger had attacked 20-year-old Krishna Kumar Bhalavi, a resident of Bawanthadi village of Kurai development block, in the forest. This led to death of the girl, but the tiger has not been caught yet. Elephants were used to find it, but it was not seen.
After this, trace cameras have been installed on trees in 250 square km forest of Rukhad and Ari area in Pench-Kanha corridor. A pair of cameras has been installed in every two square km. Records of these cameras are watched everyday, so that location of hunting tiger can be found.
After death of the girl due to tiger attack, wildlife experts of Pench Tiger Reserve and Kanha Tiger Reserve and more than 100 forest workers, three elephants, drone cameras kept searching for the tiger, but the tiger dodged them every time.
After this, forest staff stopped
the search operation and called back the forest staff. Now efforts are being made to catch the tiger by tracing it with the camera trap. After getting location of the tiger in the camera trap, experts will be called again to catch the tiger. The place where the tiger hunted the girl comes in the Pench-Kanha wildlife corridor. Presence and movement of wild animals remains here. In such a situation, people in Bawanthadhi and nearby residential areas are being advised to stay alert.
