EXPLAINING the importance of sports in overall development of kids, India women’s hockey coach and Dronacharya awardee Harendra Singh said that every kids should be forced to play a sport for four hours daily and the parents must make it a point that their wards do so.
Singh was speaking during the SJAN-Raisoni Achievers Awards Function at Press Club’s Convention Hall in
Civil Lines on Saturday.
Aditya Bhandari, Whole Time Director, Raisoni Group, Siddhesh Sharma, Senior President Baidyanath and Director Siddhayu, Deaven Dasture, Director, The South Public School, Mrunal Naik, Director Raisoni Foundation, Sports and Culture, Paritosh Pramanik, Secretary, SJAN, Amit Sampat, Vice-President graced the dais.
Harendra said, “parents-now-a-days hand electronic gadgets to their kids only for their own benefits and personal peace. But they forget that they are the main spoiler of their wards. The more we force kids to play a sport, the more better country we will produce in future,” he explained.
Harendra stated that the nation which promotes sports, build a better society as well.
On the occasion, Centre Point School, Dabha, CP and Berar College, Mahal, Mangesh Kashikar (Best organiser), junior India hockey player Himanshi Gawande, Under-20 athlete Nayan Sarde, Woman Grandmaster and double chess Olympiad gold medalist for India Divya Deshmukh
and Vidarbha Ranji Trophy captain Akshay Wadkar were
felicitated.
Dr Ram Thakur conducted the programme while Sampat proposed a vote of thanks.
