IIM-Nagpur plans Rs 227 cr
To meet its evolving needs, the Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur (IIM-Nagpur) has planned expansion of its infrastructure. The MIHAN-based institute will add new students’ hostel, dining hall, classrooms, library and other facilities to its existing state-of-the-art facility. With an investment of over Rs 227 crore, IIM-Nagpur will start 25,000 square metre construction as a part of its phase II and III. Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, on Saturday told the mediapersons that the new facilities would help the institute achieve its full capacity of accommodating 1,170 students. “As the institute is growing, we are running short of space for new programmes. There are limited seats in the hostels and thus, we cannot conduct more courses,
 
he said. Dr Metri said a new students’ hostel with a capacity of 280 rooms; executive hostel with 100 rooms; new dining hall, additional classrooms; and a state-of-the-art library will be constructed. “We are in the final stages of inviting tenders for the new construction and hope to complete it within the next two to three years,” he said. Contd from page 1 As of now, about 600 students are studying in the B-school spread over 135 acres of land. In Phase I, 61,000 square metre construction was carried out at a cost of Rs 279.68 crore. Apart from this, the IIM Nagpur is also installing solar panels for electricity generation of 2 MW with the financial support from Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company.
