Cycling Sunday Campaign kicks-off under Fit India Movement at Ranital Sports Complex, on Sunday. It may be noted that, on December 17, 2024, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, flagged off the Fit India Cycling Campaign in New Delhi. This initiative aims to promote cycling as a permanent physical fitness activity and play a key role in raising awareness about its benefits. In line with this vision, the campaign will now be celebrated every Sunday as part of an ongoing national effort. Following this initiative, the ‘Cycling Sunday’ event was organised at Ranital Sports Complex.
 
The event featured a 10-kilometer cycling route that began at Ranital Sports Complex and passed through Ukhri Road, Vijay Nagar and Gole Bazar round near Hanuman Temple, before returning to the starting point at the Sports Complex. Ashish Pandey, District Sports Officer and Bhisham Singh, Secretary, Cycling Association Madhya Pradesh were special guests. They administered the Fit India oath to participants, including coaches and staff from STC Jabalpur, athletes from Khelo India Centre, Archery Academy players and sports enthusiasts and citizens. 60 athletes and sports enthusiasts participated in the event. Guests emphasised over cycling for physical health and the environment. They encouraged participants to adopt cycling as a regular mode of transport, pointing out that it helps in saving fuel, improving individual health, and contributing to reducing pollution.
 
The successful execution of this event was made possible with the support of Anil Kumar, Karate Coach, Vikas Kumar Yadav, Basketball Coach and all the staff from STC Jabalpur. The event also received vital support from the District Health Department, District Police Administration and Traffic Police. Durgesh Nandini, Center In-charge, STC Jabalpur, expressed her gratitude to all participants and contributors for making the event a success. This initiative marks an important step towards encouraging a healthier, more active lifestyle among the citizens of Jabalpur and across India.
