The weather conditions in the State, including Jabalpur, are set to change again. According to the Weather Department, light rain is likely in lash many districts of Madhya Pradesh. This rainfall will lead to a slight increase in temperatures due to the activation of a western disturbance.
The Weather Department has indicated that light rainfall may start in the next two to three days, impacting both eastern and western parts of the State. This weather change is expected to raise day and night temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
However, after the system passes, cold conditions are likely to intensify once again. On Sunday, many areas of the State experienced morning fog.
After the spell of severe cold, a new weather system is becoming active in Madhya Pradesh. Although, rainfall during December is a common trend in the state and this year appears to follow a similar pattern.
Spokesman of weather department informed that light rain will occur in scattered areas across both eastern and western regions of the state. He informed that a cyclonic circulation is active over Punjab and adjoining Haryana at an altitude of 1.5 km above mean sea level. Likewise, a similar system is active over south west Rajasthan and adjacent parts of Pakistan.
On December 27, a new and active western disturbance is expected to affect the western Himalayan region and adjoining plains. Sub-tropical jet streams, blowing at a speed of 252 km/h, are currently active over northern India, which could influence the weather patterns further.
The city on Sunday recorded minimum temperature of 8.5 degree Celsius, which was 2 degree below normal while the maximum temperature was 25.0 degree Celsius, which was within normal range.
