In a major operation, High-Level Drug Destruction Committee of Jabalpur Zone destroyed a massive quantity of illicit drugs, including 4763 kg of Ganja, 812 grams of smack and 68,619 narcotic injections at ACC factory in Kymore, Katni, on Friday.
The destruction was carried out under the supervision of Inspector General of Police (Jabalpur Zone), Anil Singh Kushwaha while DIG (Jabalpur Range), Atul Singh, DIG, (Chhindwara Range), Sachin Atulkar, SP, Katni, Abhijeet Ranjan, SP, Jabalpur, Sampat Upadhyay, SP, Narsinghpur, Mrigakhi Deka and other concerned officers were present.
This action was part of a legal and systematic destruction of narcotics seized under various cases of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in six districts of Jabalpur Zone include Jabalpur, Katni, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara and Pandhurna. The destruction of drugs involved narcotics seized across various cases in these districts include in Jabalpur, a total of 1229 kg of Ganja seized in 57 cases and 457 grams of smack seized in 4 cases were destroyed. In Katni, a total of 342 kg of Ganja seized in 25 cases was destroyed. In Narsinghpur, a total of 165 kg of Ganja from 54 cases and 355 grams of smack from 37 cases were destroyed. In Chhindwara, a total of 154 kg of Ganja seized in 35 cases was destroyed. In Seoni, total 301 kg of Ganja seized in one case was destroyed. In Pandhurna, a total of 630 kg of Ganja seized in two cases was destroyed.
The destruction was carried out at ACC Plant in Kymore, where the seized drugs were incinerated to ensure public safety and compliance with the law.
The largest single seizure involved 1027 kg of Ganja in one case from Jabalpur and 1540 kg of Ganja from a single case in Katni. These drugs were also destroyed during the operation.
This destruction drive underscores the ongoing efforts by the Jabalpur Zone police to curb drug trafficking and ensure the safety and well-being of the general public.
