Habitual criminal, two delinquents involved in 3 theft cases arrested

In a major breakthrough, Jabalpur police have succeeded in apprehending a habitual criminal along with two delinquent boys involved in three theft cases and retrieved booty amounting to Rs 6 lakh and two two-sheelers from them. The accused has been identified as Premnath alias Pappu Mallah (50), son of Kunjilal Mallah, native of Bhitoni in Shahpura and currently lived at Patel Mohalla in Madhotal. The accused is already booked in around 50 theft cases in Jabalpur and Bhopal. Police have retrieved the stolen jewellery into Kalighat Kund in Gwarighat in around 6-hours hectic workout with the help of divers of State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF).
 
Additional SP (Crime), Samar Verma, while addressing a press conference, on Wednesday, informed that investigating the theft cases reported by Ranjit Banerjee (69), resident of Kachnar Phase-II, Laxmipur in Vijay Nagar, Sandeep Tiwari (38), resident of Kachnar City in Vijay Nagar and Saurabh Jain, resident of Shikshak Colony in Vijay Nagar, police obtained CCTV footages in concerned areas and identified a suspected man along with two boys. On the basis of video clippings, police nabbed a habitual thief Premnath alias Pappu Mallah at Dalpatpur village in Bhedaghat along with two delinquent boys. In a rigorous questioning, the accused revealed three theft cases. The thief disclosed that he hide the stolen jewellery into a pond of Kalighat in Gwarighat. On his identification, police started a search operation into the pond with the help of SDRF divers and retrieved gold and silver jewellery amounting to Rs 6 lakh and two two-wheelers numbered MP 20 NP 6733 and MP 20 ZP 4574used in theft incidents.
