Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai virtually attended the commencement of 150th Birth Anniversary Year celebration of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas from Science College Ground in Raipur city on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the commencement of 150th Birth Anniversary Year celebration of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in Jamui, Bihar on Friday. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various development projects worth around Rs 6,640 crore in the programme. Later, addressing the programme at Science College Ground in Raipur, Chief Minister Sai said that the history of the tribal society is very rich and glorious.
 
Former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have worked to increase the honour, respect and pride of the tribal community in the country. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji had created a separate ministry for the welfare of the tribal community and gave a new direction to the development of the tribal community. Prime Minister Modi has started many schemes for the upliftment of the tribal community. A budget provision of Rs 24,000 crore has been made under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana and Rs 80,000 crore for the Dharti Aaba Tribal Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, due to which rapid development of basic facilities and work for the betterment of the tribes is being done in the tribal areas, he added. On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Chief Minister Sai announced that Rs 5,000 finanical assistance would be given annually to Baiga, Gunia and Sirha people belonging to the tribal community of Chhattisgarh state under Mukhyamantri Samman Nidhi.
 
The Chief Minister announced the launch of Akhra Nirman Vikas Yojana for religious and auspicious works in tribal villages. The statues of martyrs from tribal community will be installed across the state. Places will be identified where the statues of tribal heroes like Veer Narayan Singh, Gundadhur and others will be installed in the state, he added. Chief Minister Sai honoured the personalities of the tribal community, the family members of martyrs of the tribal rebellion in the state. The winners of the tribal painting competition were also honoured with certificate and memento in the function. “Community Forest Resource Potential Atlas”, Calendar “Shauryanjali and book “Halba Janjatiya Kee Vachik Paramparayei” were released in the ceremony.
 
Rajya Sabha Member Arun Singh presided over the function. In his address, Rajya Sabha Member and BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh praised the development works of Vishnu Deo Sai government. Tribal Welfare Department Minister Ramvichar Netam in his address also lauded the development works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. MLAs Motilal Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Purandar Mishra, former Minister Mahesh Gagda, former MLA Umesh Kachchhap Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary Sonmani Borah, Commissioner Narendra Dugga and other officials were present.
