FENCERS from Nagpur representing Maharashtra bought laurels to state as well as city by clinching medals in the 16th Mini National Fencing Competition concluded in Cuttack, Odisha recently. Ayana Srivastava, Ananya Mane displayed a fine performance to win medals in their respective category while Divyanshi Dharpure and Vihana Surkar too performed well and got rankings in at the meet. Ayana Srivastava clinched bronze medal in EP event playing in Under-12 category. Ananya Mane also bagged bronze medal in Sabre event in Under-10 category. Meanwhile, Divyanshi Dharpure was successful in securing 12th rank in Under-12 category and Vihana Surkar got 27th rank playing in Under-10 category.
All four players made the city proud by their excellent performance at the national level. The medal winning players give credit of their success to their coaches Sagar Bhagat and Rahul Mandavkar and their parents. President of Nagpur District Fencing Association Ajay Sontakke, Secretary Mohammed Shoyeb, Ankit Gajbhiye and Nandkunal congratulated the players. The winners were felicitated by Nagpur Fencing Association at Fencing Training Centre in Departmental Sports Complex.
