POLICE busted the sex racket, being operated at a lodge in Power House, Bhilai and arrested six including three women in this connection. However, the accused pimp in the flesh trade racket is absconding while police are on look-out for him. Acting in the matter Chhavni police registered the offence under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Police sources informed that on Wednesday, while acting upon the complaints of mushrooming flesh trade racket at a lodge in Power House, Bhilai; a Chhavni police team, led Harish Patil, CSP, Chhavni Police Subdivision, also comprising SHO Chhavni police Chetan Chandrakar, laid a trap and arrested six including three accused women after having raided Prabhat Lodge, located in Power House, Bhilai. Elaborating upon police operation, Chhaoni police said that as per provisions of PITA ACT, the police sent a mock customer with marked currency, and on being signaled after payment the police team raided the lodge while rounding up the accused.
 
The police arrested the accused along with recovery of marked currency from their possession. The also said that the accused pimp, named as Rahul Verma of Bilaspur was away during the police raid. The police team is carrying out raids at all his potential hideouts and he will soon be behind bars. The investigation so far revealed that the accused Rahul Verma was actively involved in the racket as he used to entice customers and was also arranging the willing girls at the hotel. The police also recovered condoms, sex pills and other such paraphernalia from the hotel raided by the police team.
 
The accused arrested by police were identified as Nilesh Verma (19), a resident of Pamgarh of Janjgri; Suprabhat Sheel (44), a resident of Shukla Market, Bhilai; Rajendra Yadav (37), a resident of Girdhari Nagar, Durg; Manju Lahre alias Manju Dahariya (20), a resident Satnami Mohalla, Bhilai; Laxmi Haldhar alias Megha (38), a resident of Ramnagar, Supela, Bhilai and Sangeeta Banjare alias Bharti (26), a resident of Adarsh Nagar, Durg. The police have registered the offence against the accused under sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). CSP, Chhavni Police Subdivision, Harish Patil informed that acting upon the complaints of sex racket pouring in from Power House, Bhilai area, after laying the trap for effectively checking complaints of immoral trafficking in the area, the police carried out raid and arrested the accused men and women for indulging in immoral activity and flesh trade from the lodge. He added that the police would continue to initiate stern measures against all antisocial elements indulging in immoral activities.
