 Following the directives received from the Police Headquarters, Nava Raipur, Durg Police on Thursday organised a daylong workshop on new criminal laws for journalists. The workshop aimed at providing necessary information to the journalists on Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam implemented from July 1st so that the journalists can provide accurate and detailed information to their readers and viewers. Durg Range Inspector General (IG) of Police, Ram Gopal Garg and Durg Superintendent of Police (SP) Jitendra Shukla jointly inaugurated the workshop and gave detailed information regarding the newly implemented laws and their subsequent effects. IG Garg detailed on E-FIRs and laid stress on its importance as well as the procedure which has to be followed for lodging E-FIR.
 
He said that it is completely paperless and comparatively more effective. The journalists were briefed about the importance of paperless procedure and its implementation and informed that how this can help in speedily executing administrative works and can be done with more transparency. SP Shukla during the workshop detailed on new provisions of search and seizure. He also told that how it can be ensured that rights of citizens are protected during process. The journalists attending the workshop also asked various questions related to the topic so that they can perfectly execute their work. The programme was concluded with the IG and SP thanking the journalists for their contribution while also encouraging them to stay alert regarding the new laws and their process. Additional SP (urban) Sukhnandan Rathore, ASP Vedvrat Sirmaur, City SPs Chirag Jain and Satya Prakash Tiwari, Deputy SP Chandraprakash Tiwari and police personnel in large number were present.
