The Central Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Roopa Mishra, praised the co-working centre established by Raipur Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the Raipur District Administration. Under the guidance of the Urban Administration and Development Department of the Chhattisgarh Government, this facility, located on the third floor of the multi-level parking near the heart of the capital city, Jaistambh, aims to promote and support startups for youth welfare and women’s empowerment.

 

During her visit, Roopa Mishra was briefed by the RMC Commissioner Abinash Mishra, about the various community-oriented activities of the co-working centre. He informed the Central Joint Secretary about the future plans of the co-working centre, which will be shared once some ongoing works are completed. Abinash Mishra emphasised the continuous efforts to integrate good startups with incubators and system integrators through the co-working centre. The inspection by Roopa Mishra was attended by officials including Ankit Jain, Assistant Advisor of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shashank Pandey, CEO of the Chhattisgarh State Urban Development Agency and Ujjwal Porwal, COO of Raipur Smart City Limited. Roopa Mishra interacted with the youth associated with the startups currently receiving online training at the co-working centre. She provided them with valuable suggestions and encouraged them for their future success.

 

Roopa Mishra appreciated the live feedback mechanism implemented at the co-working centre, which involves collecting feedback from the youth associated with startups and using it to improve facilities. She mentioned that necessary improvements can be made after obtaining final suggestions. Roopa Mishra highlighted that the co-working centre of Raipur Municipal Corporation is a unique initiative in the country. It plays a significant role in enhancing youth talent, women empowerment, entrepreneurship and skill development, along with delivering social and cultural benefits.
