A Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme was held in Material Management Department of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant, at Ispat Bhawan recently. The programme is aimed at developing women as entrepreneurs. K C Misra, CGM (MM) was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Office-bearers of Bhilai Mahila Samaj (BMS), one of Bhilai’s foremost women's organisations, known for operating various enterprise units in women's welfare were invited in first phase of initiative. Information was sought from women entrepreneurs regarding their products, capabilities, and the challenges they are facing while running their businesses.

 

They were also made aware of the procurement policy of BSP and various schemes being run for development of MSMEs. Women entrepreneurs were also encouraged to move forward. Bhilai Steel Plant has provided a new platform to women entrepreneurs through this programme. Misra stated that SAIL-BSP is committed to the development of women entrepreneurs. BSP is always ready to provide all possible help to women entrepreneurs, said Mishra. Members of executive body of BMS, including Sadhana Goyal, General Secretary, Sonali Rath, Co-Secretary, Shikha Jain, Treasurer and Deepanwita Pal, Co-Treasurer were present in the programme. Ayan Kumar Mishra, GM (Purchase), and Suman Lata, AGM (Purchase) from purchase department, along with Manohar Sharma, GM, Prashant Janaki, AGM, Purushottam Jagbandhu, DM (AD&VD) from Vendor Development Cell, and other Senior Officials from Materials Management Department of SAIL-BSP also took part in this programme.
