Urgently need study classes to develop women leadership: Narayanan

FORMER National President of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Saji Narayanan said, “There is an urgent need for study classes to develop women leadership at all India level. Women have the ability tomakeindependentdecisions aswellasleadershipqualities.” Narayanan was speaking at the inauguration of All India WomenWorkers Study Classes. The programme was organised by Vidarbha Pradesh of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh her e inthecity.Thethree-day study class was conducted from July 12 to 14. Narayanan gave the example of Sita in the Ramayana of women being called ‘Shakti Datri’. “Any work isaworship. ‘Shram’ is worshiped in Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh. Loyalty is also an act of worship while working in an organisation,” he pointed out.
 
Saji Narayanan lighted the traditional lampto inaugurate the programme. Nita Choube, National Vice President of BMS, Ravindra Himte, National General Secretary of BMS, Raj Bihari Sharma,AllIndiaVicePresident andWorker Development Cell In-charge and State General Secretary Gajanan Gatlewar were present. Narayanan said, “Minimum wage must be paid to the labourers. People should be able to make a living from the minimum wage.” Raj BihariSharmaexplained the importance of study class. In first session, Ravindra Himte, National General Secretary of BMS, spokeonthe topicofworkers’development.
 
In the afternoon session, Dr Manisha Kothekar, National Organisation Secretary of Bharatiya Stree Shakti spoke on the role of women in the development of the nation. Gouri ChandrayaanhighlightedbenefitsoftheGovernment’s Vishakha Committee guidelines for women. The Study Class National General Secretary C V Rajesh andNationalGeneralSecretary of Varishtha Nagrik Parisangh Vasant Pimpalpure were pesent. The programme was moderated by Shilpa Deshpande, Central Member of BMS. The study class was conducted by Secretary Suhas Tiwari, Regional Office Secretary,Chaya Wachasundar ofVarishtha Nagrik Parisangh, VarshaPurke,VicePresidentof All India Coal Mining Federation, Sunita Shambharkar, Rekha Thombare, Chandrakant Deshpande and Harshal Thombare. About 55 representatives from across country were present in the event, informs Suresh Chaudhary, Head of Media, BMS.
