NIT Raipur concludes high-end workshop

DEPARTMENT of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur organised a weeklong high-end workshop sponsored by SERB on ‘Exploring Semiconductor Devices: A Practical Approach to VLSI. The workshop concluded on Tuesday. Chief Patron of the workshop was Professor Dr N V Ramana Rao, Director of NIT Raipur. Patrons included Dean Academics Dr Shrish Verma, Dean R&C Dr Prabhat Diwan and Chairman CEC Dr Shubhojit Ghosh. Chairman for the workshop was HoD ECE Dr Toshanlal Meenpal. The valedictory session began with a motivating speech by Dr Toshanlal Meenpal, who congratulated everyone on the successful execution of the event.
 
He emphasised that the conclusion of the workshop marks the beginning of real work, encouraging participants to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge they acquired to their research and professional projects. Thereafter Dr Shubhojit Ghosh provided an insightful overview of the workshop’s significance. He highlighted the competitive nature of the SERB sponsorship, mentioning that out of 500 applications received nationwide, only 52 were selected through a rigorous review process. Notably, 4 of these selected workshops were from NIT Raipur, showcasing the institute’s exceptional capability and commitment to advancing semiconductor and VLSI technologies. Dr Prabhat Diwan expressed his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation for the participants and organisers. He acknowledged the hard work and dedication that went into making the workshop a success.
 
The session then proceeded with a felicitation ceremony, where participants were recognised for their active involvement and contributions throughout workshop. 25 participants from all over the country participated in the workshop while speakers from institutions like DRDO, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Roorkee, CSIR CEERI Pilani etc gave information related to the subject. Concluding the valedictory session, Dr Ashish Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.
