A bus and a truck collided head-on, resulting in injuries to more than 20 passengers on Wednesday. The collision, which took place near Semriya village in the Vidhan Sabha police station area, was so severe that bus seats were uprooted, and many passengers sustained head injuries, causing blood getting spill out throughout the bus. The accident occurred around 10 am when the bus, travelling from Raipur to Kharora, lost control and collided with a truck. The force of the impact caused passengers to scream, with many of them being thrown from their seats highlighting the severity of the incident.
 
Among the injured were more than six women. The police and ambulance services promptly arrived at the scene, transporting the injured to a nearby private hospital in Semariya. The truck driver was critically injured, suffering severe head and body injuries, and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Meanwhile, the bus driver and conductor fled the scene immediately after the accident, according to eyewitnesses who noted the bus was travelling at high speed.
 
The collision caused significant disruption, with both the bus and truck blocking the road and leading to a traffic jam. Villagers from the surrounding area rushed to assist the injured, creating a long queue of vehicles on the Raipur to Kharora Road. The police, utilising a crane, remove the damaged vehicles to the side to clear off the road. Vidhan Sabha police confirmed that they had transported all injured passengers to the hospital with the assistance of medical teams. Efforts are under way to notify the families of the injured. An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the accident, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
