Two female tiger cubs rescued from a special train from Midghat-Budhni to Bhopal for treatment are severely injured as their treatment is being carried out at Van Vihar. During a thorough examination of both the cubs, it was found that they have multiple fractures on their spinal cords and pelvic girdle, due to which their hind part is paralysed. The condition of the cubs is critical. They were given complete examination at Van Vihar by a team of doctors. They are being treated further as much as possible. IN a rare rescue operation on Tuesday, two cubs were rescued by train from Budhni to Bhopal on the intervening night of July 14-15, three cubs were hit by a train while crossing a railway track in Midghat Budhni.
 
While one among them died, rest of the two were brought to Bhopal for further treatment by attaching a special bogie onto a train. After being hit by the train, a group of doctors reached to the spot to treat the cubs but before they could initiate the treatment a tigress arrived there and doctors had to leave the spot for their own safety. The tigress sat near cubs thorough all night. Later in the day, cubs were brought to Bhopal on train as traditional method to carry them from the spot to Bhopal could have been risky, as per the officials. The decision was made to take them by train and they were brought to RKMP station and carried to Van Vihar on a rescue Van.
