TITANIUM stock was gutted in a massive fire outbreak at a factory at Industrial Estate, Bhilai on Thursday. Upon information the well equipped fire fighting squads from various agencies including District Fire Services and the nearby cement factory reached the troubled locations immediately and doused the fire completely. However no one was hurt in the fire mishap.
 
According to information at about 11:30 am on Thursday, all of a sudden fire broke out with emission of thick smoke and flames rising high at Shivam Highteach Private Limited at Industrial Estate, Bhilai. Upon information the fire fighting squads from various fire fighting agencies including Durg District Fire Services and the nearby cement factory reached the site and pressed water tenders into services for extinguishing the fire. The sources said that with intensive fire fighting exercise the fire fighting squads could douse fire completely by 3:30 pm. The sources also said that it was the titanium processing unit of the industries where the fire occurred.
 
The police have recorded the incident and are further investigating. N Singh, District Fire Officer, Durg told that the newspaper that the fire fighting agencies pressed into service four water tenders and it was the prolonged fire fighting. However fire was brought under control in due course of time. There is titanium scrap processing works at the industries and titanium is a highly inflammable material.
 
The titanium stock was gutted in the massive fire. The cause of fire could be possibly be spark as metal cutting with the machine in progress in close vicinity or overheating but the expert agencies will finally establish the cause of fire. SHO Jamul Police Kapildev Pandey informed that after information police teams reached the spot immediately and cordoned off the area to avert possibility of any eventuality due to fire mishap. The cause of fire could not be known exactly and the police are seeking report from the expert agencies to ascertain the cause of fire. The factory owner is yet to submit the estimated loss, SHO Pandey informed.
