State Congress President Deepak Baij has criticised Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for the deteriorating law and order situation and inadequate health facilities in State. Speaking to the media at the state Congress party office, Rajiv Bhawan, in the state capital, Baij stated that the law and order situation has worsened over the seven months of BJP rule. He highlighted that crimes are rampant, even in the state capital, with inter-state gangsters expanding theirpresence while the government remains passive.

According to Baij, over 300 rapes, 80 gang rapes, and 200 murders have been reported in these seven months, alongside numerous incidents of stabbing, robbery, kidnapping, dacoity, and chain snatching. He emphasized that the BJP government has failed to protect the common people. Baij also criticized the government for its inability to provide clean drinking water and basic healthcare. He pointed out that health facilities have deteriorated under BJP rule, with several deaths reported from diarrhea and malaria.

In response to these issues, the Congress party plans to gherao the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on July 24 to protest against the declining law and order situation. Baij confirmed that all preparations have been made for the Vidhan Sabha gherao. The press conference was attended by former Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya, State Congress In-charge General Secretary Malkit Singh Gaindu, State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla, Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Dhananjay Singh Thakur, Surendra Verma, Vikas Tiwari, Subodh Haritwal, and other Congress leaders
