To raise voices against proposed selling of Post and Telegraph (P&T) Factory land, Congress Corporators met with Member of Parliament Ashish Dubey and demanded him to intervene into the matter. Amrish Mishra, Leader of Opposition in Jabalpur Municipal Corporation stated that they met with MP Dubey and demanded him to take needed steps so that the valuable land can be protected from sale. They said demanded that an urban forest be developed in the factory, spread into 70 acres of land by preserving thousands of existing lush green trees and planting new ones.
 
The Congressmen also submitted a memorandum to the Member of Parliament. They said if the land’s utility and importance for the city are conveyed to the ministers and senior officials of the Central Government and the Department of Telecommunications, it will undoubtedly be a significant milestone in saving the greenery and land. With the cooperation of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation and the Madhya Pradesh Government, the 70-acre land of P&T Factory near Ranital Square could be developed into an excellent international stadium. Besides, preserving the existing 15,000 to 20,000 trees and planting more, the land can be transformed into an urban forest and developing it as a tourist destination. Corporator Shagufta Usmani Guddu Nabi and others were also present on the occasion.
