Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday held a protest at Holy Hearts School, following the alleged assault of a student by five teachers on Saturday, July 20. The incident has sparked serious concerns about student safety and welfare at the school. The ABVP strongly condemned the teachers’ behaviour, stressing that such actions are entirely unacceptable and contrary to the values of education and student safety. They highlighted the severe mental and physical effects that corporal punishment can have on students and emphasised the need for a safe and nurturing school environment. The ABVP has demanded immediate and strict action against the teachers involved in the incident.

They have also urged the school administration to refrain from taking any action against the affected student in retaliation for the agitation. The organisation warned that if their demands are not promptly met, they would escalate their protest against the school administration and the teachers, including lodging a police complaint. Pratham Rao Phutane, Raipur Mahanagar Mantri of ABVP, stated, “We stand firmly against any kind of corporal punishment in schools. It is extremely important that schools provide a safe environment where students can learn and grow.

We demand the school administration to resolve the issue immediately and ensure the safety of all students.” Yagyadutt Verma, Rajya Mantri of Chhattisgarh ABVP, added, “A Guru is equal to God and can also punish, but the way a 15-year-old student of class 10 was brutally beaten up by five teachers in Holy Hearts School is condemnable in any way. The mother of the 15-year-old student told that her child wanted to commit suicide and was crying a lot at home. If the school administration does not take strict action, then the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad will close the entire school and also fight a legal battle.”
