In a shocking incident, three persons attacked the manager and field officer of the State Bank of India (SBI) in the Takhatpur police station area on Monday. The attackers entered the bank and assaulted the bank employees, causing a stir among other employees present at the scene. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, showing the youths fiercely beating the bank manager Ankit Bhushan Lal and field officer Prem Kumar Jaiswal. The altercation reportedly began over a dispute regarding loan settlement, which escalated owing to leading to the three youths resorting to physical violence. Following the incident, a tense situation was created in the bank, leaving employees in a state of panic. Both Ankit Bhushan Lal and Prem Kumar Jaiswal have lodged a report of assault with the police.
 
The borrower, who had taken a loan of approximately Rs 20 lakh two years ago, reportedly turned violent when reminded to repay the outstanding amount. Armed with a dangerous weapon, he attacked the branch manager and a field officer, causing widespread panic among bank officials across the State. In response to the alarming situation, the All India Bank Employees Confederation (AIBOC) has requested immediate intervention from the authorities. State Secretary Y Gopalakrishna emphasised the need for swift action to address the security concerns arising from the incident. “We urge prompt attention and decisive measures to ensure the safety of bank staff and prevent such incidents in the future,” stated Gopalakrishna, highlighting the gravity of the situation. Police official informed that following a complaint the three perpetrators have been arrested under relevant sections.
